    Wanting to Stay Home

    July 13, 2008

Ahhh…I wish I could stay home with my kids. All my friends stay home with their kids, all my online friends stay home with their kids, my neighbors, aquaintances etc. All but me. Im so Jelous! I have been really upset about it lately. Makes me cry…I think I have been crying for 2 days over it…what a baby I know, right!!

Ive recently done a budget. And with just my husband working we are NOT able to get by. Sucks! We will still be like $500 dollers short and thats now even including groceries! Horrible isnt it?

So from here on out, I will be saving money and living frugally!!!!! I will be saving money to pay off all debt. I know our biggest expense is FOOD! We eat out alot!!! We waste money there sooo much! Its ridiculous! SO  I will definatley have to menu plan and grocery shop the right way!  Maby once I get our debts paid off I can stay home!

But of course, my kids will be all grown up by then!

IF I could I would come and smack you and tell you to snap out of it!! LOL!

God has you right where He wants you right now! He wants you “broken” before Him so that you are relying on Him for your strength! He also has promised us that He will give us anything we can’t handle!

It might not be feasible for you from a money standpoint to stay at home with your kids but there is no law against trying to work towards that goal! Look for ways that you can work towards that goal…menu plan…shop sales….shop thrift stores for clothes…cut out those conveniences that you don’t need…use only the amount of $$ from your working that is necessary. You said that you are $500 short in budget well that amount is all you are allowed out of your earnings! The rest of your earnings go to savings or to paying more off your debt. Work towards using only your hubby’s paycheck to live on.

I can tell you that there are days sometimes weeks and even months where my hubby and I struggle to make ends meet with me being home and not working! It can get pretty ugly around here during those times because he really thinks that I should go back into the workforce because we could have all of our debt paid in a 6 months to a year and then we could live the “high life of debt free living” but it would end up costing us more to get me back in the workforce because of needing “workforce” clothes and the extra driving etc. that it would require. Also I feel called to be a SAHM right now in this season of my life. So we just keep pressing on only on his income working at paying off our debt(which 5 years ago we had totally paid off but with hubby going back to school and charging his schooling we are now working at getting back out of 10,000 worth of debt!) a few dollars each month and come the end of next year Lord willing we will be debt free(other than our mortgage)

Anyway, I just want to encourage you to work at finding things to cut out of your life, get into cost saving habits and take those few dollars that might be left over each month and use it to pay debt off. Work towards your dreams! The Lord says the righteous are never forsaken or begging for bread! Ps. 37:25-32
