I am going to tell you right up front that you will probably find that you will either need a 4 inch binder or you will need to make up several notebooks to keep all of your lists in!
I started with one and it just kept growing soooooo I now have THREE notebooks! One is a 2 inch binder with all my recipes that I have printed from the internet that I have tried or want to try. One 1 inch binder is just for homeschooling, it has my lesson plans, monthly calendars, reading lists, basically anything having to do with schooling the kids its there! Then I have another 1 inch binder that is all the household information. This is the notebook should there be a fire in my house and I had to grab one thing it would be this notebook!! I keep all my menus and grocery lists and inventory sheets, financial(budget), chore lists, internet passwords, medical information, etc. all in this notebook.
If you are looking for pages to use to print off to fill your notebook. Head over to organizedhome.com or over to http://myblessedhome.blogspot.com/ where in her sidebar she has ideas to doing up a binder.
